Im going to start puting together a new powerpoint talk on cacti and succulents of the UK...yep! The first part will be about our native succulents eg orpine, sedums, navelwort, salt tollerant coastal plants and aliens. (and conservation of rare species), the second about public places to visit. I would welcome one or two current pics from 2023 or over the next 9 months that does justice to places such as Botanic gardens, public gardens, NT or other places that can be easily visited. (Not specialist collections otherwise there will be too many). I could approach and use pics off the venues websites but it would be nice to have branch members helping.
Whether comprehensive or not it could be shared and embelished and used by branches. Eg id lnevitibly id talk more about places I know and I have Birm botanics and Winterbourne covered in terms of pictures. Im happy to share with branches the end product hence need for credits.
Ill probably put an ad in the enews too but ill be interested to see what response I get now.
To work please send to andysharris@hotmail.com one or two pics only, note the name of the place, nearest city/famous town and county, your branch, and a few notes if you can write a few sentences about the place/plants and who to credit for the photo. If im inundated? Ill have to be selective!
This will probably take a year to pull together properly as I want to do a bit more research to make this work and Ill test it out on the Birmingham Branch this time next year.
It could lead to an interactive talk as no doubt some audience members will be able to chip in with more info!

I have some pictures of Mesembs from Anglesey that you might be able to use - they would be from 2019 however.
I might be able to find some sedums as well from earlier in the year and 2019.
They are growing on coastal footpaths, quite close to Bull Bay.
