something has damaged it, the brown bit looks to be dead tissue. As long as it doesn't spread, just leave it alone. A scar looks less bad than a hole. If the brown patch is getting bigger, & especially if it's moist/wet rather than dry, then there's fungal infection spreading in the plant and you need to perform some surgery. You need to cut out to healthy tissue without any brown. Beware of Euphorbia sap, it's white, & it's very irritant/poisonous. I find that spraying the cut surface with water helps to stop the sap running. Wear gloves; if any does get on skin, wash off very thoroughly.
It's not very likely that it'll be fungal
