As there seems to be quite a bit of interest in pediocactus et al, Fritz has kindly sent me this photo of one of his plants in flower .... Thanks Fritz.

Re: Pediocactus bradyi fh055
Here's a few photos taken in April this year, none flowering I'm afraid as I was a little early. First is a small seedling which I believe to be Sclerocactus parviflorus although it looks rather like a Pediocactus. The only mature plants in the same locality were parviflorus. I have photos of plants at different stages of development and they do appear to be parviflorus. Photo taken near the Four Corners, NM.

This photo was taken at the same locality and if you look closely enough you can just make out a few specimens of Sclerocactus parviflorus (centre) , not always so easy to spot.

Re: Pediocactus bradyi fh055
I think this maybe the skeletal remains of Sclerocactus mesa-verdae, unfortunately I didn't find any live specimens although I was in the right area for the plant.

Now into Utah and Pediocactus simpsonii hiding beneath a small shrub just infront of the GPS unit.

Re: Pediocactus bradyi fh055
A closer view of the same plant just a shame I wasn't there a couple of weeks later to see the flowers.
