Fritz, nice catch with the two flowers together!
P. simpsonii is found widely in Utah. I could probably dig up a list of counties, but pick anywhere other than the salt flats and you probably have a decent chance.

Tending more towards cacti
, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!
