I've been waiting in vain for this to flower, it's been in bud literally since the spring and then a couple of days ago 4 buds started to expand hopefully to be followed by more, Echinocereus palmeri.

Excellents stuff Vic.
I particulalrly like the M. guelzowiana (v. robustior) with reflexed petals they look even more stunning when they exhibit this habit.
Also I very much like the E. palmeri a very underrated plant & your is most impressive. I also had a large plant once & of all things it was massacred by sciara fly they seemed to love the tuberous root !!!

I also like the E. Palmeri! I'm astounded at how long the buds took to open! Worth the wait though!

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!
