a puya mirabilis, not really a cacti or succelent, its a bromeliad, but its spiky and looks like an agave (near enough)

Based in Wiltshire and growing a mix of cacti and succulents.

the stem is about 2 or 3 inches thick and about 4 inches high, the leaf spread is around 18 inches or so. i have this plant and one other a bit smaller, which suffered overwinter in the greenhouse becuase i forgot to water it so it doesn't have a flower yet. they may be around 4 or 5 years old i think, grew them from seed.

They grow and flower pretty fast then Karen. Mine are still small in comparison, biggest probably 6" across.
