Average minimum? This can be interpreted in several ways. Do you mean that this is the average over several years of the lowest temperature recorded during one month?

(Just curious, I am interested in the cold-hardiness of cacti)

Hi Anders,
No, that means medium of the minimum temperatures of one month. For example it can be one day -20 C or another day +5 C during the month.

Ok, so each minimum refers to a 24 hrs period. But if the temperature might fall to -20?C, how does your O. ficus-india manage to survive?

Well,
I guess, short periods of severe cold will be not harmfull to this species. I know some information. Indeed, we will see its condition after the winter. I'll inform you in spring.
