Hello
We are "Spiniflores": Florencia (23) and Juan (26 years old). We are from Chile and we have a website with photos from habitat
But we are not expert in one genus, we just photograph them in habitat. Recently we get new books and magazines with reports about chilean cacti. That is the only way that we have to study them, because we always travel alone. And only in the Museo de Historia Natural de Santiago (founded by Philipii) I can found the "classics" books... like Britton et Rose, Ritter and others...
Our english is not so good, But we really like to share habitat pictures and information about habitat conditions, and also comparing habitat plants with your seedlings.
Our favourites plants are thelocephalas!!
I hope that you enjoy pictures:

Hi Florencia, Juan,
Welcome to the forum.
Your pictures are great, I see the scorpion was ready for action with the poison drip on the end of its spine.
Keep the pictures coming because it is great for us to see the plants in context.
Eight years ago I visited Chile and spent four weeks travelling all the way from Santiago to Tocopilla and back mostly looking at Copiapoa. I found the country fantastic and the people once away from the cities really hospitable and friendly.
