Hello fat-plant lovers !
Some of you would keep this rare caudex in collection and try to propagate it
by at least to ways, cutting and seed.
But as we know, to set seed from this very slow growing plant,
yet need another flowering one to mate, is quite impossible.
Cutting is a good choice, but only a few percent could be success.
So I've tried another method, grafting!
But what is the best stock for this way, I choose a common and faster grower species,
D. foetida-crispa complex as a stock.
Let see the pictures, what happen after grafting!
This is my 6 years old Drostenia gigas that I got a seedling from EXOTICA in Germany.

Drostenia foetida-crispa is a weed here, dispersing seed around, in any pot.

A grafting was established within a week.

And two month later.

Hi Stephania,
That's very impressive. I'm not aware of a reported Dorstenia graft before.
