Hi Maria

Here's a little trick - right click on the picture and you'll get a menu. Then left click 'Properties' and you'll get the file name. You will have to click and drag the right edge of the box to see the full file name, and the name of the plant is there (but cunningly not for the mystery plant)

Thanks for that Phil! Knew I could do it with pics on my computer, but not from the web!!

Thanks Ian!!

I am SO surprised by no 5 - the Crassula!! Never ever seen one like in books or web or anywhere until now!

Hi Maria,
be aware that you are often transmitting much more information than you may realise. For instance on all those pictures you can see what camera was used, at what date, at what time to the nearest second and all the other variables if you know were to look, but there are ways of removing it before you post them.

Hi Maria,
Another way is to right click on the picture and choose 'save as' - if the picture is correctly labelled you will see the name. I'm sorry for not labelling them - i sort of assumed everyone knew the trick - especially those who save picture for their own, later reference.

Best regards

Chris

No problems Chris! I've learnt something new now and will know what to do next time!! ;-)

Thanks Roy, I'll bear that in mind!! The Internet is such a good tool, but it's true that there are disadvantages if you're not too careful.

Hi Maria,
Crassula mesembryanthemopsis not uncommon and is an easy plant to grow but care with overhead watering is needed. It is also a winter grower which is why it is flowering now. I don't think mine is special - but I keep it big enough to look something but not too big so that it takes more than its share of space. It has a wonderful scent as well.

Best regards

Chris

And a few more - the light was dreadful at the time - and then it really poured down so they are a poor taster only.

One of my favourites Agapetes serpens - this flowers in early string but has started already. It is a heather family plant from the Himalaya where it grows on rocks. The flowers are stunning and the caudex is interesting - I put it out all summer.

and the caudex:

Aloe calcariophylla- a few aloes are flowering now - this is one of the *very nice* small ones.

Gymno NICHIKII still flowering - and going red as it gently dessicates

A mesemb struggling but flowering Bijlia tugwelleae

An achimenes relative Smithiana Little One

Finally an orchid that has now been flowering for months - it needs a summer rest - stenoglottis longifolia

More to follow after christmas

Best regards

Chris

Beautiful orchid, Chris!

And what a whopping caudex the serpens has. I thought it might be like a shrimp plant (fron the flower) until I saw that...

And a nice red gymno. Mine is a plain old green, but I'm not complaining.. it's alive. :)

Happy carrier of Forby Disorder - an obsession with Euphorbia obesa.

NB. Anyone failing to provide a sensible name for me to address them will be called, or referred to, as Fred.

Nice selection Chris! How old is the Agapetes serpens? It's an amazing caudex!
