Updated web site

Post by James Pickering »

I have updated my "Brazilian cacti in cultivation" mini-web site http://jp29.org/cedr.htm to include a page relating to Frailea.

I would appreciate feedback and comments.

James

Good to see the cactus pages back. Frailea? I knew there was something I needed to add to my Christmas list ...

Nice pages & photos James.
Frailea is a genus I have yet to add to my collection!

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!

Hello James

I have seen your website for the first time. I think its great and I will try my luck with Freileas.
Also I was interested in your booklist.
I will try and get that book about columnar cacti from Brasil from Dr. E. Werdermann. Apart from cacti my I have an interest in old books.

I will certainly visit again.

Thank you, Maria. I only recently started cultivating Frailea -- now I really like them, especially the way they come so readily and quickly from seed.

Thank you for your kind comments, Susanne. The Werdermann book may be hard to find -- please let me know if you have a problem obtaining it.

Good description, Maria! Frailea castanea is one of my very favorite cacti. Here are the "mother" plants - 2 or 3 years old ? -- photo taken today, 7cm square plastic pots, two plants with flower buds/fruit:
