James. love your web site. Cacti and WW2 Unsung Heroes. Question , do you use fertilizer on your seedlings, if so how much ? Do you mist water or bottom water your seedlings?

Thank you, James. I do fertilize my seedlings -- they receive the same treatment as my mature plants -- water soluble fertilizer (10/30/20) with chelated micronutrients at 25% of the manufacturers recommended strength. I feed every week in the hot summer growing period and once per month during the winter months. We have relatively mild and dry winters here -- the nighttime temp seldom dips below freezing with the afternoon temps usually being in the 70s F. I always water from above (fine rose for seedlings) -- sometimes misting in winter.

I wish there was a way I could send you some seed of Fraliea castanea by mail, Maria. I have had a bumper crop this year so I have lots to spare.
