Links and signatures

Post by iann »

With the new forum software, links no longer need to be enclosed in angle brackets. Instead they will automatically be detected and made active. The forum will place these links in square brackets shwoing just the top level domain to avoid very long links. You can still use the square brackets and [ url ] syntax for making links with your own text:
So http://www.bcss.org.uk/forum or BCCS forum.

There was a glitch with converting signatures which contained angle brackets around links and these were not displaying cleanly. I believe that I have corrected all these signatures. If not you can edit them yourself or let me know and I will fix them.

It also appears that some or all signatures which used to display automatically on every message your wrote have been turned off. I think this setting was stored in a cookie in the old version so I don't have access to it to fix. I don't want to just turn this on for everyone, so you'll have to set ityourself in the control centre if you want your signature to appear every time. Or check the box individually on those messages where you want a signature.
