Strange growth Pelcyphora aselliformis normanbokei

Post by Tina »

This was originally grafted on a Pereskiopsis then I regrafted late last yr & now it's going sort of cristate with a sort of quiff developing ?.

Well if it was one of my loph grafts I would be pleased but I did want a nice Pelecyphora, tut just my luck...

Unfortunately you do get quite a lot of distorted growth with grafted plants. To reduce the chances requires experimenting to find the most suitable stock

I had thought this stock would be quite slow ( is normally for me) so maybe I'll try tricho pachanoi next time.

I suppose I need to get the pereskiopsis growing ready for grafting

Tina,

If it does grow cristate, regraft the growing part on another stock and the rest will produce normal offsets.
