Post by Chris43 »

Nothing really new, just reflecting recent changes as a result of requests.

Hi all,
my seed requests from the seedpool arrived today. Although they may not be insiring to all members, it is my first attempt at growing succulent plants from seed. The seed that I received from Chris are; three varieties of Sedum, (acre"Oktoberfest"), (selkianum(ech) "Goldikocks") and (hybridium"Czar's Gold"). As soon as I have something to report, progress wise, I will send report.
Many thanks for the prompot delivery Chris.
Best regards to all Barry

I note with interest that Nick has donated some "own seed" of Carnegia gigantea !

This I find quite impressive as if this is a flowering plant of this species in the UK it may well be the only one !

Nick if you are on the forum I would love to know more ???

Hi Martin,
The note on the entry on the file, says "Original seed from plant outside Organ Pipe Nat. Mon", so I probably should not have used own seed. What I meant was that it didn't come from a recognized seed seller.

Chris is right - much as i would like to boast a plant big enough to bloom (and a big enough g/h to put it in!!), seed is actually from a habitat plant near Phoenix. One of the few seed pods lying around that hadnt been stripped by mice and cactus thrushes.

I guess i might fit a mature saguaro in new g/h when i finally complete it, but it would lack appeal since it would need to be horizontal. Ark ark
