one of the difficult pediocactus species.
the columbia river basin cactus, the very endangered pediocactus nigrispinus.

Columbia river - that must be a cold winter place! Plant appears white skinned like copiapoa..

I grew this one from seed. And killed all except one!

That answers my question are they being grown in cultivation so they don't become extinct.

ja very cold in the north west, cultivation difficult like the sclerocactus, pediocactus, navajoa, toumeya (ja,i know not all).
