I was going to ask the same question. I see the BEFs are a lot shallower than the square pots I buy, I will have to invest in some.

Like cacti and succulents, they can be an expensive habit, Victoria.

They're the same as we use here - albeit we don't have the fancy "faux terracotta" colouring...LOL
We can have any colour, as long as it's black....
Maybe someone should import them from Oz...LOL

BEF products was(?) the company name of the manufacturers. I think they were based in Essex. Because cactus growers hold the pots in such high esteem the moulds have continued to be used long after BEF stopped making them or ceased to be (I'm not sure of its fate). In the '90s a company called TIH Industries sold them. Philip Barker is in the process of taking over from Malcolm Pym. They are finger-burningly expensive though. I've just had some 2nd hand ones (larger sizes) from cactology.

I put something on the previous thread about 2" = (5.5cm diameter, 5.0cm deep) pots from Telford Garden Supplies. I've had a new catalogue from them in the post 2 days ago, prices have gone up from previous. Now listed @ ?26.88 for 500; ?48.38 for 1000; P & P ?2.95, free for orders over ?30

Re: 2" pots, can't remember who wanted them
Just to reiterate - the BEF pots are excellent quality being made from polypropylene they are extremely strong and don't become brittle like many other plastic pots and hence they last for years if mot forever. Well worth the investment.

Re: 2" pots, can't remember who wanted them
They can degrade a bit on the surface. It seems to happen more on pots kept outdoors rather than in the greenhouse. Having said that, I have pots that I've had in use for 35+ years that are as good as new. Can't say that about too many of the plants from that long ago
