Up here in the North East we have escaped the worst in fact we have seen very little. Tuesday night was very cold with the outside temperature in my garden reaching minus 5. Melocactus tucked up in our bedroom while its so cold.

Yikes! That does it, I'm going to take a photo first thing in the morning of....yep, you guessed it....Blue Sky and Sun !!! :P

That white stuff is something your supposed to travel hours to see...I'm not too sure I'd like it home delivered !!!

Oh well, only 26Deg celsius here tomorrow...sorry folks ...;)

Not the first time this Aloe striatula has seen snow.
Another of the high altitude Drakensburg species.

Unlike my striatula in the back garden which is facing the full brunt of the weather. Last year it was badly marked after the February cold snap and I cut it right back to the ground, that's just one season's growth, the plant is about 1m across. Just visible (centre of pic) is an Echinopsis enjoying the shelter from the elements:
