Hi everyone,my name is kai. I'm a cactioholic. Living in Co Tipperary Ireland, born in Sweden by finnish parents. As I said in the little intruduction I do like growing cacti, getting in to the succulents as well. Back in the 80's when I was young I had my windowsills full of cacti, watered to death. But it wasn't until I got internet I realized there was a whole world out there, growing things from seed. Got some very expensive seeds from the states. Germinated them in a dark corner of the kitchen. Anyway ended up with 3 San Pedro's. Joined BCSS and now I've more seedling than is manageble, in a small 6 by 8 greenhouse with no heating so alot is coming indoors over the winter. Have a VERY understanding wife. My favoured generas would be, all the cereuses, opuntias, melos, euphorbias, agaves, aloes, echeverias and I like look of the flower of tacitus bellus. Not very succesfull with the mesembs ps did anyone get the 1st # of this years Euphorbia world

Hello Kai, welcome to the forum. I toured Ireland a few times on my bicycle in the 80s and would like to do so again (but perhaps a bit more slowly!) 'The Apple' campsite at Cahir was brilliant - they looked after everyone so well when we were all washed out in a deluge. Anyway, would you be able to post a photo of your San Pedros here? My seedlings never got going but I have some plants that are supposed to be Trichocereus pachanoi that I use for grafting. I am not sure that they are quite right because there should be a slight notch above the areole. We used to have a photo of the true plant here but it was lost when we had the new forum software installed.
