Hi Dave and Mike, Keep the pictures coming, the last ones have been truly incredible, almost surreal. The colour of the sky is what is most amazing, so, so, blue and I guess the air must be crystal clear, for the colours to come out as they have. The scenery and the plant photos combine to make a really enjoyable travelogue, well done!

One final shot of the Chilean side of the border. Could you ask for a more perfect volcano?

Wonderful pictures Mike and David, I have really enjoyed the scenery, I have seen similar in the Atacama Desert in Chile and seeing this kind of scenery again gives me an urge to go back there! Next year hopefully.
The virtual Incahuasi Volcano as seen in Google Earth looks very much like the real thing you showed us

Lately there are a lot of problems with drugs, specially in the northen borders.
And in any chilean border you can't pass fruits or food. now they are putting tickets... even 120 USD for only 1 apple!!
it is very much easier if you explain that you are in a "eco-tour", exploring landscape, birds, nature, cactus, only taking more and more photos.. you can show you cameras, computer and equipment... and then smile
and lucky for you that there were only 3 cars...
look this border in a bussy day
