This is a shot taken when we stopped to photograph Licancabur. Talk about pitiless waste! I wouldn't like to be lost out there. The white in the distance is salt pan.

In other places there was the same desiccated golden coloured grass we had seen before. If you saw this you could be pretty sure there would be vicuna or guanaco somewhere about.

There were numerous volcanic cones close to the road.

The altimeter on Willy's GPS reads 4801m, so I guess we must be near the highest point here!
