I could have spent hours here cataloguing all the different shades of the C atacamensis alone.

Also growing here were clumps of a small headed Maihueniopsis which I took to be minima.

I have now been persuaded that this is actually Maihueniopsis conoidea.

The Trichocereus atacamensis were majestic. Just look at the scale of the figure beside the one on the right. (In a classic digital camera pose.)
