I think this is the same Trichocereus pasacana as davids shot. We saw several of these for sale - sadly they would not fit in the bus let alone the plane......

And then it was back in the bus for a short journey to the far side of town and the 'seven coloured hills'. You couldn't argue with the name.

I seem to recall Willy informing us that this was a 'protected area'.

One of the main plants we had come to visit was Gymno. saglionis var tilcarense. I knew that these were large plants (and the ones we saw earlier in the trip were football sized) but these were vast.

The plant in Mike's photo had flowers with a rather pinker wash to them. Either way these were very nice plants.

There were some large and impressive plants of Trichocereus pasacana at this location. Nice red hill in the background; green one further back.

We haven't had a picture of Opuntia sulphurea lately, though in Argentina it's always there somewhere in the background. Mike reckons it should be the Argentinian national flower!;)
