After a little prompting the bus was stopped so that I could try to capture the receeding line of mountains against a dramatic sky.

The sky certainly was dramatic, and evenually it did disgorge some rain, though rather less than the clouds had promised. This is my attempt to capture the scene.

At this stop I noticed this rather fine Trichocereus, I assume. T. pasacana, with classic woodpecker holes. Just like in the books.

A little bit further down the road our progress came to a sudden halt!

They were very nice sheep and obviously well looked after.

Of course there's always one that wants to go the other way. We'll call him Shaun. Do you like the sweet lamb getting a lift from the shepherd?

Eventually some threatening looks from the sheep dog got them sorted out and they all streamed past.

I think this is a subforum I should visit more often! So wonderful places far away from home! I wonder if I will ever make such a trip before I die..
