Never the most attractive plant, but if you concentrate on the new growth, Cereus aethiops has a nice blue green colour to the epidermis. In growth habit it's a terrible sprawler though.

I think the trip you went on has turned into one of the best things about this forum as you are showing pictures that dont usualy get put into branch talks

I'll second Chris's comments. It's been great following this tour with all the wonderful photos. and interesting commentary. I know it takes time to post them and feel it's worked well to spread things out over a period of time.

Well, that's about it for day 13. We headed into the very pretty little town of Cafayate quite late, found a place to eat, can't remember where, and spent the night in the very nice Hotel Asturias.
Shortly I'll be starting the penultimate day of our cactus tour, Cafayate to Salta, 185km of prime cactus country with some really super plants.
