Hi Maria, Yes we certianly did take the helicopter trip into the Grand Canyon, a fantastic experience as it landed alongside the Colorado river.

Fantastic Phil!! I think if you go all that way, a heli-ride is a must to really appreciate the canyon! (Mind you, I'm a little biased as I am a bit of a helicopter freak, although I've yet to fly in one!).

Yes the helicopter flight was quite expensive but well worth it as we flew for about 2 hours in total from Las Vegas to The Grand Canyon. I didn't see Echinocactus polycephalus at this particular spot but I did notice it in several places in the Mojave Desert on the way to Las Vegas.
