Hi Phil

I thought you and the other members of the Forum would like to see this saguaro - a clear case of overwatering by US governemnt agencies.

The picture was taken at Roosevelt Lake Arizona Spring 2005. Leo Martin from Phoenix Cactus Club reckons that the water soon goes down and it does not affect the cactus much. Not a method of cultivation I would recommend!

cheers
Trev

More atypical Saguaro photos -- taken from movie camera shots (hence not very good quality) of front yard in Tucson on a cold (19 F) February morning:

How true, Nick -- Burnley on a nice winter day -- minus the snow!

(Catching up after a week away!)
Fantastic pictures Phil!! I definitely hope to 'do' the canyons one day!
Did you take a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon?

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!
