Arizona Visit

Post by phil »

Having recently returned from a visit to Arizona, I've finally got round to sorting the many hundreds of photo's. Here is just a flavour of my trip.
More to follow.

I certainly give specimen of Saguaro (Carnegia gigantea cristate) the "thumbs up".

This plant was at the magnificent 'Desert Botanical Gardens' Phoenix.

Nice photos, Phil. I missed out on the Desert Botanical Gardens on the only one spare day I spent in Phoenix, so these are nice to fill in with. I went out east from Phoenix, and then south, saw some nice plants but not the concentration of species that these Gardens have.

Tending more towards cacti :D, particularly Gymnocalyciums, Rebutias, Sulcorebutias, Echinopses, Thelos, Feros and Mamms (and anything else I like the look of!) all in an 8 x 6 polycarb greenhouse and a few windowsills!

Hi Phil,

I was just thinking if you had returned and then I logged into the forum to find your thread. Looks like you had a great time. Your excellent photos certainly bring back happy memories from my visit to the DBG on my first trip out to Arizona in 2004. I remember that hillside and cristate as if I was there yesterday.

Hope you're going to treat us all to a few more photos. It would also be nice to know where else you visited etc..
