Plants of Pilosocereus magnificus here were a bit different from the plants growing at the Coleocephalocereus decumbens site. Here they had more ribs, and not so close set areoles:

But the plants of Pilosocereus magnificus are as unbelievably blue as in the other site, and make astonishing shrubs!

There are many other species of cacti at this habitat, the least exciting of which is Pseudoacanthocereus brasiliensis:

Pseudoacanthocereus brasiliensis is a trailing species that mostly grows entangled under the shrubs, with few ribbed stems and few spines. The flowers are nocturnal, like the queen of the night, and it has spiny yellow fruits:

A characteristic of Pseudoacanthocereus brasiliensis are the dimorphic stems - the juvenile stems look quite distinct from the mature stems:
