The auction of John Fawcett's plants is to take place on Sunday September 2nd. At Dunchurch Village Hall, Rugby Road, Dunchurch, Nr Rugby. CV22 6PN.
John who sadly died on May 10th this year, was a long time member of Coventry branch. He was a top class grower, and although he didn't attend shows often, many of his plants were of show quality, and were mainly of what we would term "choice" species.
Unfortunately before the plants could be rescued, some of them were scorched in the early summer sun, but there are still many beatiful plants for sale. Including 18 Ariocarpus, many Copiapoas, 3 of which are multi-headed specimens of Copiapoa(Pilocopiapoa)solaris .
I haven't got pictures of all the plants, as they are being kept in two different places. But I hope to have some more later this week, including a Dorstenia gigas.
If you are interested , send me a PM with your E-mail address and I can send you the full list of 103 lots in PDF form.
Anyone who attended the 2011 Zone 6 show which Coventry branch hosted will know this venue, it's a lovely place with plenty of on-site parking.
