The BCSS will join other specialist plant societies at RHS Wisley, Surrey over the weekend Sat 20th & Sunday 21st June 2015. "All about Plants" will be held near Wilson's Wood, Seven Acres, beyond the main Restaurant. Woking branch will stage this publicity stand, providing expert advice. Please come along and say hello to support our volunteers raising awareness of cacti & succulents.

There's always a lot to see at Wisley, so make a day of it.
Best wishes,

Derek, it says on the RHS website that the specialist societies will be selling plants, does this apply to the BCSS pitch?
And if I can't get there 'til Sunday will there be any left?

Since the stand is being manned (mainly) by members of BCSS Woking Branch, I'm sure they will be selling plants.RogerF wrote:Derek, it says on the RHS website that the specialist societies will be selling plants, does this apply to the BCSS pitch?

Yes, I believe Woking branch members are providing c&s sales plants for the general public.
Their web site is alas woefully out-of-date.
Best regards,
Derek

I hope they'll all be wearing the 'official issue' BCSS uniform. I saw these recently on a branch visit but couldn't get anyone to pose in one for a photo.

Yes, I wore one of the new tabards all day. People came and asked questions and it does distinguish one as an official representative well. We'll get used to them.
Woking provided a nice display of (clearly labelled) specimen plants and an interesting (& colourful) range of sales that would would appeal to BCSS members, as well as the public. Echeverias were popular. Many other specialist societies had also put a lot of effort into their stands. It all looked professional, but was a shame the RHS had located the marquee in a remote part of Wisley. Hopefully it will be repeated next year in a better location (& with a better name ... Special Plant Spectacular?).
Best wishes,
DT
