Birmingham Branch and Haworthia Society: Autumn Show

Post by Christian »

This year, our branch will hold the Autumn Show in conjunction with the Haworthia Society, who will have their show and biennial general meeting with us in Brum. It's not until the 2 October, but I thought I'd mention that the schedule for these two shows is available now from our website at: http://birmingham.bcss.org.uk/?p=2339

Only just only over a week to go, the last big show of the year plus the additional Haworthia section and at least three nurseries. Birmingham Botanical Gardens are a great show venue and those entering the show get free admission to the gardens.

Only three days to go, this show needs just the right weather to work and it's looking good for Sunday, dry and sunny. It needs the right weather to attract visitors to the gardens, not rain but also not too hot as the show hall leads off from the greenhouse displays. If too hot then visitors don't go in the greenhouses and don't find the show. Sunday looks to be dry and sunny all day according to the BBC this morning and the gardens are well worth a visit.

Looking forward to seeing you all there (one of the last 'big' events for me this year).
