'South West Cactus Mart' June 24th 2017.

Post by tonyironscacti »

Hi,

The 6th Annual 'South West Cactus Mart' is being held at the usual venue as in previous years, namely..........

The Portishead Youth Centre,

1, Harbour Road, Portishead, Bristol. BS20 7DD.

This is just 1.5 miles from Junction 19, [Gordano Services] M5.

Admittance is free, with the venue open from 9.30- 1.30 pm.

The Snack Bar will be open throughout the entire event.

Bookings are now open, with all the previous sellers due to be sent application forms this coming week.

If you are a new or fresh seller that is interested in selling, then please contact me, so that I can send you an application form immediately to secure your place.

A list of those booked for selling will be published here in early January 2017.

This is YOUR chance to pick up a few bargains and is the only Cactus Mart in the South West, so please come along and support it.

Last year the attendance was high and people went away with quite a lot of new acquisitions.

My contact details are 01275 846239 or tonyironscacti@talktalk.net for any questions.

Good growing,

Tony.

Hi,

Here is a list of the Traders/Sellers so far for this years Mart.

Some sellers have increased the sales space booked , whilst we do have a fresh nursery attending also, so things are already in full swing !

MARIES POTS DIRECT....... this is now an established seller of a variety of pots suitable for the succulent grower. Normally sales are online, so it is good to meet Marie and sample the pots. Any not available on the day can be ordered for Mail order delivery.

RALPH NORTHCOTT 'CACTUS SHOP'..........Ralph is well established here in the West Country with both Mail Order and sales at major events around the country. He always has a good selection of plants appealing to the public as well as the more particular collectors. His stand is now increased in size for this years Mart.

CLIFF MORCOM..........All the way from deep Cornwall, he is helped on his stand by his wife Debbie. The plants are always fresh to the buyer and a popular stand to visit.

TONY IRONS CACTI...........I always try to have a varied selection of home grown plants and imported plants available. The stand is run by Richard who is well known around the country . Lithops are a speciality so please look closely for those choice species/hybrids.

COACH HOUSE CACTI........A new nursery to our event, however David has been a keen grower and seller of plants for a long time. He comes from Dorset and I am sure his wide selection of plants will prove popular at this event.

KEITH LARKIN...........If you want a particular book then Keith is the man you go to. As well as selling a VAST array of these, he also has a good knowledge on what each book covers. If you need advise, then speak to Keith.

DAVID NEVILLE..........Again, a well respected seller of plants, seen at most top quality shows. His choice of all types of species is one not to be missed. Make a 'beeline' to his stand to grab those bargains !

WILLIAMS CACTI.........Craig [and his Dad ], come all the way from Yorkshire to provide us with top rated plants. They are heavily into succulents, especially those hard to find Caudiciforms. Between them they can provide you with advise on how to care for these choice gems.

ALAN WEADON.......Alan is a local, but his reputation for raising those choice slow growing plants are second to none. Sclerocactus, Turbincarpus, Pediocactus are just some of his favoured plants. Possibly the only person in the UK that you can speak to on the care of these plants and can supply them to you !

A really great array of sellers already booked in and I expect some late additions will also be added in due course.

Mark this date in your diary so that you do not miss it.

Doors open at 9.30 and close at 1.30......an intense 4 hours of buying and selling, plus FREE ENTRY !!

Hope to see you all on the day.

Good news, we have a fresh nursery booked for this years event.......................

JEREMY WHITE SUCCULENT PLANTS. .....Jeremy has just opened his new nursery near Honiton, Devon. He specialises in Echeveria plants, but does feature some other plants including cacti.

We welcome him to our show as his plants will be different from other nurseries and are popular with the public.

Hi,

Well everything is well in hand with 33 tables booked and 12 Traders attending.

With weather as we have now, it will be a great day out plus you have the neighbouring Marina with berths for 450 yachts and the adjacent bars/shops & restaurants.

The Lake grounds on the seafront has a boating lake, open air swimming pool and cafes, so plenty to do once you arrive.

Doors open at 9.30- 1.30.

Hoping to see friends old & new on the day.....just come and enjoy yourselves !

Tony.
