Sussex Zone Convention

Post by Werewolf »

Just a week to go now before the Derek Desborough Memorial Lectures at the Crawley Horticultural Society Hall, Ifield Avenue, Crawley, RH11 7AJ and we're looking forward to welcoming everyone. The speakers are Gillian Evison on A Beginner's Guide to Caudiciforms and Roger Ferryman with Up Chile and Down Argentina, so we're guaranteed an entertaining and informative afternoon.

There will be lots of plants for sale from David Neville and Stuart Riley, plus members including Anne Adams, Dave Appleton, Vicky Davies (who grows some excellent seedlings of unusual species), Graham Evans, Tony & Suzanne Mace, Terry Smale and anyone else who cares to join in.

We are now close to the hall's capacity, which should keep Mrs. Werewolf busy with the catering, but we can still squeeze a few more in. Tickets are £10 from Suzanne Mace or myself. Doors open at 12:30pm with the first talk at 13:30pm. A generous buffet will be served between the presentations.

Happy Easter!

Hope you found all the mini easter eggs that Helen may have hidden amongst your turbs and neoporterias! I look forward too to the talks, the company and Helen's goodies

Excellent event, two very different but equally very entertaining talks. (Entertainment came top of the list in a recent conversation about the various ingredients of a cactus talk) Homemade cakes etc a huge improvement on using outside caterers but much more work involved. A sell-out event and the nursery to buyer ratio just about right. Same time next year please!!
