The North West Cactus Mart

Post by Peter B »

The annual mart which has been staged in North West England for a great many years now will be held at the usual venue .......
St Thomas More Church Hall, Kirkway, Alkrington, Middleton, Manchester. M24 1PP
on Saturday May 4th 2019

This venue, for those who do not know, is just under 1 mile from junction 20 of M60

Entry is free with the mart opening at 10.15am till 2.15pm

The kitchen will be open for food and drink until 1.30pm

The following stalls will be open on the day:
Ralph Nortcott, Cactusshop .....Ralph is a well established cactus and succulent exponent who travels to events countrywide offering a good selection of plants to the serious collector and general public alike.

Tony Irons Cacti ..... Tony always has a varied selection of plants for sale to suit all pockets. He has a fine selection of Lithops, his chosen speciality, as well as many other seedling plants.

Williams Cacti ..... Craig has increased his offerings of cacti and succulents enormously through the years and always has a fine and varied selection of caudiciform plants as well as many cacti on sale. If that is what you want he is the man to see.

Woodside Cacti ..... this nursery is run by a husband and wife team who supply a great range of cacti and succulents as well as an array of cactus and succulent trinkets.

Keith Larkin ..... If you want cactus and succulent books then Keith is the man to see. He is in great demand at events round the country so don't miss the opportunity to see him here.

Harry Mays ..... Harry is a very knowledgeable enthusiast who brings a wide range of plants, especially succulents, to the mart along with information in abundance.

Gordon Foster ..... Joan and Gordon always provide a stall with many interesting plants on offer. They are another nursery who provide a wide range of home grown Lithops for sale as well as many other sorts of plants.

The Edgintons ..... Richard and Wendy travel a long way to offer some excellent seed grown cacti that have been grown hard and will withstand the rigours of cold winters. It is a stall to be browsed over carefully to see what is there.

Graham Charles ..... This is another stall not to be missed as Graham raises all his plants from documented seed. He is a veteran of exploration in South America and his plants mirror that legacy.

Ian Robinson ..... Ian brings a fascinating range of cacti and succulents in his greenhouse. There will be a good range of cold hardy plants on offer that he has raised or propagated during the last 12 months.

Anthony Clarke ..... Anthony has been coming for a few years now. He offers a varied selection of plants but enjoys propagating leafy succulents.

John Henshaw ..... Although John has officially closed his nursery he still brings a range of mature plants for sale each year.

Dan Roberts ..... Dan is returning for a second year to this event. He had a wide range of plants on offer and I am sure he will have an excellent selection again this year.

Rob Stevenson ..... Rob was able to offer a wide selection of smaller growing plants, especially Mexican genera, for sale last year and his wife will have some of her favoured Auriculas with her as well.

Royston Hughes ..... the selection offered by Royston has enlarged considerably as he sells plants from Ray Allcock's collection.

Manchester Branch .... There will be several sellers from the branch offering plants that they have raised from seed. There will also be plants available from a local collection that has had to be moved on.

BEF pots ..... At last we can offer pots for sale again, many at discounted prices as we move on brand new stock that has been in store for some time. Don't miss this opportunity to restock as you prepare to repot plants this spring.

There may be other sales tables also as responses to emails are returned or new sellers emerge. Don't miss out! mark the date in your diary.

Peter
Thanks for the notification.
Noted in diary!
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
