Harrow BCSS Branch Show 2018
Harrow BCSS Branch Show 2018
This year, well-known plant explorer, author and speaker Graham Charles will be judging BCSS Harrow Branch Show and bringing plants for sale. Graham is known for growing more unusual cactus species from seed.

There will be a spectacular display of amazing desert plants again and all are welcome on Sat 27th July at St Thomas More Church Hall, 32 Field End Road, Eastcote, Middx. HA5 2QT. It is a short walk northwards past shops and the Ascott pub (or 3 stops on bus 282) from Eastcote Underground station (Metropolitan Line), NW London.

As usual there will be teas & light refreshments, a tombola and local members' c&s plant sales. Admission is only £1. Please come along between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. when this friendly show will be open to the public and you can vote for the "People's Choice" award. This was the last winner:

Nearly there and everything is in place!

I understand at least two people from outside Harrow Branch are entering. Unlike other shows, there is no limit to the number of entries in a class that one person can bring, so specialists can show off lots of their
chosen plants.

Best wishes,

I can't believe I am going to miss this one too. I've got family visiting from far away for the firt time and they are not into cacti/succulents...

It went very well! This year, there were a strong number of entries in the succulent classes (including a metre tall Madagascan Uncarina!) as well as many spectacular cacti. Alas rain made packing & unloading in the morning unpleasant, but it stayed dry for most of the time that the show was open. It was nice to meet many visitors again from neighbouring areas and sales trays were looking empty by the end of the day.

Best wishes,
Derek Tribble
