I'm not sure why it took me so long to join the Forum after a short membership of the very first BCSS forum years ago. Well, now I've joined and look forward to interesting discussion.
Perhaps you know me, I have been a BCSS member for 48 years, having had a lifetime interest in cacti. I met my wife, Elisabeth, at a cactus meeting and now we share our glasshouse in Rutland. We celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next week, sharing our hobby has been a source of great pleasure.
My speciality is the cacti of South America and I particularly like growing unusual species from seed with location provenance. The winter is a good time to read about the plants and I enjoy books and journals, even though some, like the Czech and Polish ones, are impossible for me to understand.
Our winter is summer in South America, so I try to go there then to see the plants in nature and get some sunshine to speed the passing of our short winter days.
Good Growing!
Graham

A very warm welcome Graham, and thanks for the plants and cuttings you bought along for me at Eau Brink on tuesday night. All potted and looking good,I shall be in touch soon re other 'oddities'.That was a really interesting talk as well,as I have recently bought several oroyas, some from you,now I understand them a little better after seeing the habitat photos.I'm sure we will all benefit from your arrival here.Good luck,Ray.
