Morning all,
I inherited my Dad's collection of cacti earlier this year, and since then I have joined both the BCSS (attached to the Bromley branch) and this forum.
I was introduced to cacti in 1970, when I became the proud owner of my very own Chamaecereus Silvestrii. In 1973 I joined the Bromley branch of what was then the NCSS, and have happy memories of visits to the Ashington Collection and the collection of Brian and Edgar Lamb amongst others. As I grew up, I had less time to maintain my own collection, but Dad was always happy to let me share his!
The collection is housed in a greenhouse and now numbers around 280, although many of these are very recent additions. I have a particular interest in Rebutias, Mammilarias and Echinocerei, and having spent most of this year tidying up the collection, I'm looking forward to seeing lots of flowers next year.
A number of plants are not labelled, and I would be very grateful if others on this forum could help me identify these from time to time. For starters, I attach a photo (below) for your thoughts and suggestions. Any ideas?
Regards,
Graham
Greetings

Re: Greetings
Welcome Graham. C. silvestrii eh? Seems many of us started our passion with those few 'xmas cacti'
I have weird sense for naming plants, so can't help much with that, but there are many others here willing to give a helping (expert) hand

Re: Greetings
Welcome Graham.
I think your cactus might be Trichocereus pachanoi. Maybe you can post it in the discussion forum again so that more people can see it and give their opinions.
