Kia ora from New Zealand

Post by Odin777 »

Greetings from Auckland in New Zealand. I have been happily growing cacti and succulents as a hobby for 2 years now and have found a passion for mesembs and in particular Lithops, Aloinopsis, Titanopsis and Conophytum. A mate of mine in Australia who sells me seeds recommended I join the BCSS and the Mesembs Study Group and here I am. :-)

It was quite exciting to receive Cactus World and I was thrilled that international membership is possible. Thank you for having me.

Here is a photo I took of my Lithops gesinae v. annae with a nice fat seed pod.

Welcome to the society and forum Odin. We do have members from around the world, seeing and understanding the range of conditions from say Northern Europe to The West Indies in which members grow our favoured plants always interests me. Sometimes I am envious, often I am greatfull that it is never realy that cold or hot in the UK.

Edit, I can not see your picture.
Regards Keith.

Nor can I, but welcome to the forum anyway and good luck with the hobby.

Welcome to the Forum Odin, and enjoy your plants. As Keith says, it's always interesting to read about different growing conditions in other countries, assume it is mid-winter for you now, while we have a very British summer!
