April 2012 photo competition - LITTLE and LARGE

Post by Lithos »

For April I suggest the title 'LITTLE and LARGE' - many folks will be re-potting around now if not earlier, and precious little seedlings should be emerging, I can't be the only one with multiples of a species, young and old, fat and thin, happy and sad, grafted or own roots, etc. etc.

How about these seedlings of Epithelantha micromeris? Seeds from 2009 were sown May 2011. They have germinated in 3 stages. You can't see them all but 6 have newly germinated and are little bright green blobs

Sachi, regards the Euph.abdl. the off-setting plant to the right is grafted, I've tried all kinds of things to try encourage this, but have ended up believing in pure luck. The plant to the left and those in the background are on their own, thick roots. Here is another amazing looking plant - Little and Large, sharing one root , never grafted, seed sown in 1972.

Uebelmannia pectinifera conjoined twins
