Hi Aiko
fluffy thingies on the pointy ends
yeap thats what I'm waiting for :shift: I thought I would have seen some fluff by now. The tips are a bit fragile & will break off so they will be a challenge to keep fully tipped.
There are some dubious looking plants on ebay that don't look quite right but I'm sure these are the real deal.

I reckon they don't get that big?
Saw this species a few months ago in a collection of an Agave specialist. I believe the plant was about 10 centimeters, and if had fluffy bits. How big are your plants? The look a bit smaller than that.

The tips look a bit dried out. Maybe that is partly why there is no fluffiness. Have you tried to dare to give it a bit more water?
But two years, that's still very young. Might take a few more years, I would think (without any specific knowledge about this plant, but that is not stopping me...).

Mine are also 2 years old a little smaller than the largest you have in that pot and also no fluff.

Aiko might be on to something re the dryed leaf ends ..... will have to try a little more water next summer

Geoff do you have these if so any fluff yet ?

Hi Aiko
mine are being pampered growing under lights at 25C, they get lots of water.
Just been told 4 years is good but more likely to take 5-6 years I don't have the patience grrrrrr

Has any one worked out my 5 A's? There are six if you count "Apex" as one.

Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum would be 3. I don't seem to get where the other 3 are coming from
