January 2013 - A is for ......
Idea stolen from Ian Robinson - how far can you stretch the subject to fit your photograph?

Re: January 2013 - A is for ......
keeping it simple, A is for ...
Acanthocalycium thionanthum var. copiapoides. I love Copiapoa's, and I'm rather fond of Acantho's, so I had to buy this plant when I saw it at the ELK in 2010.
edit: I see we're counting A's, so if the var. counts then I've got 6, otherwise 5.

Hi,All.
A is for Ariocarpus Autopy.
The perils of late flower I guess.
The Black nodules are likely from the Sclerotinia fungus.
http://www.extento.hawaii.edu/kbase/cro ... _scler.htm We suffered it many years ago when growing Lettice and Celery.
1997 from seed as well.
