Yes, but I would add nostagia, Jens, as all the above photos have been taken in earlier years. It's good to look back and remember how our plants have performed, while anticipating a "better than ever" display in the coming flowering season.Jens wrote:This topic is about anticipation most of all

Yes very true Rod.

Another great little sun-flower there, nice one Jim.
Coryphanta often tend to flower together before it is going to rain in summer.

How about Lobivia?
Another example to make people who haven´t posted here, go through their cactus picture files and find some darn good photos from summers way back...

A few contributions to the yellow theme from the photo archive .......
First a few 'genuine' (ie unlumped) Parodias. Dont really know why they have dropped out of fashion. Great variety to choose from, floriferous (sometimes in very small plants) and some challenges to good growers, especially from seed. Here are 4 that have gladdened my eye in past years :

Re: February 2013 A Yellow Flower in Summer
And for my final post this afternoon (and my own special interest).....
Not all Echinopsis hybrids are pink!!!! All of these are from the American hybridiser Bob Schick
(I will admit to pushing the envelope on the definition of a yellow flower a little bit in one or two cases!)
