February 2013 A Yellow Flower in Summer

Thank you Jens - the pictures were taken with an old Olympus OM10, with the standard 50mm lens reversed and taped onto a cardboard tube which was taped to the camera body - real high tech! but it was 26 years ago

-that makes the picture awesome for the hardship in shooting it. (a sentence probably not compatible with Oxford English ).What I was going to say: I like it even more.

The poor Pterocactus grows in the wrong hemispere now

This contest really was fun to watch as it went on. There were so many winning pictures in it, that it is really near impossible to pick just one.

In the end I thought the Weingartia kargliana on Peters photo was the yellowest flower from summer.
