Here is another little gem the sunshine has bought out for me today : Escobaria hesteri (dark form) originally from the Piltz nursery in Germany. It is in a 2.5" pot and is unlikely to need anything bigger anytime soon!

And another 'Little Gem' from the stapeliad world. This is Orbea schweinfurthi with tiny flowers (< 1cm across) but like little jewels when seen close up. Sadly this one also left for the Great Compost Heap in the Sky at the end of last year.

Hi,

Thank you to everybody who entered the competition. There were some great photographs. Jim's Echinocereus davisii was lovely, and certainly deserves a special mention.

However my favourite was Chris L Rebutia fabrisii - a beautiful little gem - so I am going to make this one the winner.

Best Wishes,
Sheila
