December 2013 - Plants you think others should grow
What do you grow that are a bit unusual that you think others should grow.

Oh, that's a 'no brainer' - Sansevieria of course.

Re: December 2013 - Plants you think others should grow
May I present to you the most perfect weed everyone should have grown at least once:
There are few plants that have the ultimate leaf shape, a charming little flower, a delightful display and beeing such a humble presence in every main crop's pot than this little plant, that is invasive ma non troppo, its appearence does not disturb and it will be disappearing in next summers heat: Cymbalaria muralis. Try it with your succulents!- MikeT

Re: December 2013 - Plants you think others should grow
I have ivy leaved toadflax in the garden, deliberately introduced from some growing as a weed on our church forecourt. When doing some weeding there, I took a few lengths home (didn't bother with the groundsel and dandelions), they rooted easily. Grows best in brickwork or tiny cracks in stone. I did see a form with pure white flowers and paler leaves on the streamside wall in St Davids (Pembrokeshire) this August, I haven't seen this form elsewhere

Not allowed in the greenhouse but tolerated in the garden - the white form was a deliberate purchase

How about growing Cintia knizei?
A small plant that will flower early in the year.

I love it - but I am a bit of a sucker for yellow flowered plants. Brilliant photo too, Jens.Jens wrote:How about growing Cintia knizei?

Thanks Rod, yellow is such a cheerful and poitive color isn´t it? I always loved to watch the Cintia buds emerge in spring to display such a warm color at the end of winter.
