July 2014 - Plants in Perfect Pots

Post by Jim_Mercer »

I am not sure that the tea pots featured in the thread started recently by our President are quite what I am looking for as a Perfect Pot but I hope he is not the only one to have plants growing in something other than the ubiquitous plastic pots.

I do love plants in nice pots, the perfect pot for a plant enhances the plant so much. Here is one of my favourites.

A few more pots, this is planted with Echeveria secunda.
IMG_1561.20001.jpg
This is supposedly Echeveria halbingeri sanchez-mejoradae. Whatever the plant is, it goes red all over in winter and has been this colour ever since I put it outside, this Spring.
IMG_1577.10001.jpg
I'm not sure what this is but it has some Echeveria elegans (potosina) in it.
IMG_1519.10001.jpg
This is Echeveria agavoides x elegans, which turns a fantastic colour in winter.

Lastly Echeveria 'Topsy Turvy'

There are some lovely bowls in the pictures above. Where do you get them from? :???:

I make them at a pottery class. They are fun to make and don't require much skill, I'm not a mastercraftsman. It is good to make a pot with a plant in mind, though.
