January 2015, Transparencies

Post by John Dos »

Happy New Year to All!

The oblique rays of sunlight in winter may help to capture a sublime transparence - flowers, shadow on flowers, leaves, watercells, buds, even an ice crystal on a succulent.

Trichodiadema densum, from last year, may,  . Out of competition!

Not a transparent plant, but I like to add this photo here: It shows a seed of Astrophytum coahuilense, the deeply impressed hilum region covered by a thin, more or less transparent membran, which is already partly ruptured.

Hi,

I think that this is quite a challenging subject, but I've eventually found one late entry.

Not sure if we are allowed photos from some while ago, but I always loved these Epithelantha seed pods
