Named in honour of Harry Blossfeld Jr. and after the fictional island of Lilliput.
Quite a good one in my opinion, named after Karl Schmiedicke and Christian Klinker.

I have to include my favourite Gasteria, G. ellaphieae. Ellaphie Ward-Hillhorst was an outstanding South African botanical artist until her tragic murder in 1994.

Haworthia bolusii blackbeardiana, named after Adrian Haworth, Harriet Margaret Louisa Bolus and Blackbeard the pirate . Though not sure where the pirates were involved
Then Sedum 'Ray Evans', named after the founder of the Sedum Society, not the Ron Evans for whom Echeveria 'Ron Evans' was named.
The current Sedum Society chairman, Ray Stephenson, has Aeonium 'Ray Stephenson' named after him. Mine flowered then died, but produced a few seedlings, one of which is now also flowering. So maybe 'Son of Ray' rather than the original cultivar, unless it breeds true when self pollinated
Not sure whether this one counts.... Aloe barbadensis, named, as most of the population know, after VeraMike T

Have to say this is a brilliant selection for photos. Unusual so it has made people think outside the box. Love looking at the connexions and learning too.

I agree Jane - It is a massive subject and makes you think. Today I thought I'd look at genus names I might have (I don't grow many) - turns out one is named after someone who lived from 1492-1552.
