Turbinicarpus polaskii stigma lobes.

I haven't posted in the photo competition for a while, but as it's raining today and I can't get out in the garden...

A few cacti first, though not all with spines: and some non-cacti:

It's just too tempting to put loads of photos here with a subject like texture. The possibilities are so many. Here is my selection.

I will show some nice textures.

The first is Kalanchoe tomentosa "Chocolate Soldier" flowers



Now Frithia humilis, in the season when his color is violet.



Now my amazing Aloe humilis selected.

Certainly some texture here without a doubt. I thought the lighting on the Frithia humilis was excellent for bringing out the macro texture, however I was looking for an image of texture rather than an image of a plant with a texture. If the Aeonium voodoo had been a tighter crop that would have given a good texture image, however, the image that I liked best and in my opinion (just an opinion therefore not necessarily right or wrong) was Sempervium calcareum by Liz M.

Hi Chris, still around but just an ethernet member nowadays. Still got a lot of cacti but nowhere near the collection I used to have, hope you are ok,

Hi Roy, I only just found this having been offline for a while. Thank you for choosing my picture. Looking out the window and it is raining. So, this gives me a title for September. 'Cacti and succulents in the rain.'
